WHY THE CROSS – THE HOLY WEEK MEDITATIONS

Revelation 13:8“…the Lamb who was slain from the creation of the world.”

The depth of this truth is beyond full comprehension on this side of eternity. Yet, we can draw several meaningful insights from it:

a. Eternal Suffering Shared:
Before the fall, in His eternal knowledge, God foresaw our suffering—And in love, shared it, including the suffering of His Son on the cross.

b. God the Patient Parent:
Throughout history, God has entered into our pain, not as a distant observer, but as a patient and present Father walking with His children.

c. Victory Foreseen:
God saw the triumph and glory of the cross long before we did. From the beginning, the Cross was not a divine reaction to sin—it was God’s eternal plan.

d. The Cross-Shaped Life:
The cross is not only where sin was dealt with—it is also the path of daily obedience. Jesus says, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me” (Luke 9:23).

The cross is more than an instrument of atonement—it is a cosmic demonstration of divine solidarity with human suffering.
God carried our pain before us, walks with us in it, and bore it fully for us.

During this Holy Week, we will explore these four profound implications of the truth:
"The Lamb was slain before the creation of the world."
