Topic: Defining the nature of true, saving knowledge of God. After identifying the dangers of idolatry and dead orthodoxy (Lesson 3), this lesson establishes the biblical ideal. True knowledge is not merely the accumulation of correct data about God, nor is it a contentless emotional experience. It is a dynamic, relational synthesis where biblical truth about God (the mind) fuels heartfelt love for God (the affections), resulting in a transformed, obedient life (the will).
