Seedtime and Harvest Will Never Cease” – Genesis 8:22
Between 1908 and 2003, British cyclists had won only one Olympic gold medal and had never won the Tour de France. They were considered one of the worst in the world.
Then came a commitment to small, daily improvements. Under a new coach, they began to make 1% improvements everywhere:
• Redesigning bike seats to be more comfortable
• Testing fabrics to find the most aerodynamic racing suits
• Teaching athletes how to wash their hands properly to avoid illness
• Even changing pillows to help riders sleep better
None of these changes—seeds—seemed huge. But together, over time, they transformed everything.
The Result?
• 5 years later, at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, they won 60% of the gold medals in cycling
• In the 2012 London Olympics – they dominated again
• From 2012 to 2017 – British cyclists won 5 Tour de France titles in 6 years
Seedtime and harvest will never cease. But the harvest will always match the seeds we plant—slowly, surely, abundantly.
