The Neveg
Genesis 13 opens with a quiet but weighty line: “So Abram went up from Egypt to the Negev.” The Negev was a harsh wilderness—a dry and restless land where Abram had to move from place to place in search of pasture. And yet, it is here, in this barren region, that his faith begins to deepen, and his relationship with God starts to take root.
In a believer’s life, the Negev mirrors those seasons of testing—times of upheaval and uncertainty that strip away our illusions of control. In the wilderness, we learn what Abram learned: that our only true stability is found in Christ.
