Spiritual Fast Food: Are You Nourishing Your Soul?
The Taste for Convenience
Food habits are often learned. When I came to the West, I learned to enjoy new foods, though some things—like fries at McDonald's—still don't fully appeal to me. Yet, one thing is undeniable: Fast food is now a fundamental part of the global lifestyle.

Why do we rely on it? The biggest factor is often a busy life. We're tired, we're driving home, and we just grab whatever is fast and convenient—McDonald's, Tim Hortons, or Burger King. This is the result of a life that has no time to cook, no time to invest in a good, healthy, and nourishing meal. You eat, and you go to bed.

The Danger in Discipleship
We can easily find this same principle—this culture of extreme convenience—in our spiritual lives.

The Bible represents a rich kitchen where you can take time to prepare a good meal. A meal that is good for your spiritual body, good for your mental health, and good for your energy and stamina.

But because we are so busy, we adopt the culture of Spiritual Fast Food.

What Is Spiritual Fast Food?
What do I mean by spiritual fast food?

It is the practice of consuming random videos and quick snippets of teaching that appear on your feed: on Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok. People are living on whatever video they can quickly grab.

That quick grab is spiritual fast food.

It’s not enough.

It's not good for you.

Because it is fast, you don't take the time to investigate, vet, and truly absorb whether the teaching is right, proper, and good for you.

Time to Cook
This week, let's examine what we are consuming.

Are you taking the time to cook the right meal—the proper, balanced meal—for your soul?

Do not survive on spiritual McDonald's. Invest your time in the kitchen of the Word and truly nourish your spirit.
